How and why to help AltExpo with AltExpo X expenses.
We always seem to put together the AltExpo out of thin air, but it's the result of the efforts of a small hardy band intent on doing big things.
What we'd like to do it pass the hat this time using Chip In. We usually pass the hat at the events and we'll do that again this time. Our costs are a lot less without renting $900 of hotel rooms or $800 worth of tents and camping spaces.
We're using the facilities of Tek Arts in Milford, the Quill in Manchester and the FSP facilities rented from the Crowne Plaza in Nashua this year in a 3-city extravaganza! But we contribute to each of these in order to do that. We'd like to re-imburse everyone who has helped for any out-of-pocket expenses, including for ink, paper, gas money, phone calls, etc.
This year, we're even trying a novel concept and that is to re-imburse the prime organizer, Jack, for his lost income due to spending a couple of weeks straight in the efforts to locate speakers, meet with others to make arrangements and the constant promotional effort, which never seems like enough. It has already panned out in new alliances which will create other regional AltExpos (most likely in Vermont in the spring or summer). Well, is it worth it? I know most of you have either presented at previous AltExpos or have learned something from the presenters there, so why not support the effort with a bunch of small donations? Give us a hand (and I don't just mean applause)!
Thanks for being involved with us in whatever way you are - see you at AltExpo X events - in 3 cities this time!
